Primates exhibit some of the most complex social structures and communication systems in the animal kingdom. Their societies range from solitary individuals to intricate, multi-level communities, shaped by evolutionary pressures, ecological contexts, and cognitive abilities. Communication in primates is multifaceted, involving vocalizations, gestures, facial expressions, and tactile signals, all of which serve to maintain social bonds, negotiate hierarchies, and respond to environmental challenges. This research paper provides a comprehensive review of primate social organization, the interplay between social structure and communication, and the adaptive significance of these behaviors.
